Who We Are

Debbie Scheunemann
Shop Owner and
The Curator of Creativity
Debbie is the passionate founder and owner of Cut the Scrap, your go-to destination for unique and affordable secondhand arts and crafts supplies. With a lifelong love for creative expression, Debbie envisioned a place where art materials could find a second life, inspiring makers while reducing waste.
Debbie's mission with Cut the Scrap goes beyond just selling supplies; it's about fostering a community where resourceful crafting thrives. When she's not meticulously sorting donations or discovering hidden gems for the shop, Debbie loves to experiment with creative reuse projects herself, always finding new ways to "cut the scrap" and transform the ordinary into something extraordinary.
Debbie invites you to join the movement, explore the endless possibilities of secondhand supplies, and fuel your artistic journey responsibly.

Piper
Shop Assistant
Piper is thrilled to be part of the Cut the Scrap crew! She brings her love of theater, crafting, and community to everything she does. You may have seen her on stage in *The Wizard of Oz*, *Matilda Jr.*, *Once Upon a Pine*, or *Seussical*—and now you’ll find her helping customers, organizing supplies, creating videos, and spreading joy in the shop.
When she’s not at Cut the Scrap, Piper’s busy singing in chorus, performing at open mic nights, and diving into school groups like feminist club, psychology club, and recycled fashion (yes, she’s scrappy in every sense!). She’s passionate about creativity, connection, and making the world a little brighter—one stitch, song, or smile at a time.

Stop by and say hi—Piper can’t wait to help you find your next crafty treasure and watch Cut the Scrap grow into something even more magical!
